  Security-Widefield is a census-designated place (CDP) located in El Paso County, Colorado. It is situated just south of Colorado Springs and has a population of approximately 32,000  residents. The history of Security-Widefield dates back to the 1940s, when it was established as a military housing development for the nearby Peterson Air Force Base. Over the years, the community has grown and developed into a residential neighborhood with a mix of single-family homes, apartments, and businesses. One of the key events in the history of Security-Widefield was the construction of the Widefield School District in 1955 . This district serves the educational needs of the community's students and has become one of the largest in El Paso County.
